CLIVE Owen is on board the film The Killer Elite, due to begin filming in Melbourne next month. Australian expat Yvonne Strahovski is also expected to join the cast.

Last week, while promoting the new Australian romantic comedy I Love You Too, Strahovski said she had another Australian film readying for production but was not yet allowed to speak. It is The Killer Elite, based on the Ranulph Fiennes novel The Feather Men, about a vigilante group protecting the families of SAS agents. Jason Statham will also star in the film by Irishman Gary McKendry. Strahovski, who had her big break in US television series Chuck, also stars in the Australian film by Nadia Tass, Matching Jack, with Richard Roxburgh, Jacinda Barrett and James Nesbitt. It is likely to open the Melbourne International Film Festival.
